SENATE BILL NO. 428
BY SENATOR DONAHUE 
HEALTH SERVICES.  Authorizes the LSU Health Sciences Center to maximize the use of
affiliation agreements with other hospitals in order to maximize the use of  Medicare
graduate medical education monies. (8/15/10)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 17:1519.18, relative to the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center;2
to provide for the use of affiliation agreements which seek to maximize the use of3
Medicare graduate medical education financing; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 17:1519.18 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6
ยง1519.18. Affiliation agreements for Medicare graduate medical education7
The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center shall be8
authorized to execute graduate medical education affiliation agreements with9
hospitals which maintain a high utilization rate of Medicare patients in an effort10
to maximize the use of Medicare graduate medical education financing.11 SB NO. 428
