AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 42:1123(18)(d), relative to conflicts of interest; to provide that certain children2
of members of boards of commissioners of certain hospitals may contract with such3
hospitals under certain circumstances; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 42:1123(18)(d) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6

(d) Any licensed physician who is the child of a member of a board of12
commissioners of any hospital service district authorized by Chapter 10 of Title13
46 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, located within a parish that has a14
population of fifty thousand or less or for a hospital that is defined as a rural15
hospital pursuant to the Rural Hospital Preservation Act, R.S. 40:1300.141 et16
seq., from contracting for professional health care services with the hospital17
over which the board exercises jurisdiction, from subcontracting with another18
professional health care provider who contracts for professional health care19

services with the hospital, or from owning an interest in any entity that1
contracts for professional health care services with the hospital.2
