AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 1:61, relative to general provisions of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950;2
to provide a uniform definition of a disadvantaged business enterprise; and to3
provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 1:61 is hereby enacted to read as follows:6
ยง61. Disadvantaged business enterprise defined7
Whenever the context so requires, the phrase " disadvantaged business8
enterprise" as used in the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 and any rules and9
regulations promulgated in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act10
shall mean a disadvantaged business enterprise certified under the Unified11
Certification Program for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises.12 SB NO. 597

Proposed law provides that whenever the context so requires, the phrase " disadvantaged
business enterprise" as used in the LRS and any rules and regulations promulgated in
accordance with the APA means a disadvantaged business enterprise certified under the
Unified Certification Program for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises.
Effective August 15, 2010.
