COURTS. Provides relative to cases that go through pretrial diversions in the 16

AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 15:571.10, relative to the Sixteenth Judicial District Court; to provide relative2
to cases going into pretrial diversion and intervention programs; to provide for3
distribution of funds and revenues; to provide certain conditions, requirements, and4
restrictions; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 15:571.10 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง571.10. Sixteenth Judicial District Court; pretrial diversion and intervention8
programs; distribution of revenues9
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, in the Sixteenth10
Judicial District, no more than fifty percent of revenues derived from cases11
going into pretrial diversion and intervention programs shall be used or12
distributed to the district attorney to defray the expenses of his office. The13
remainder shall be divided proportionately according to existing allocations. 14 SB NO. 647

DIGEST
Proposed law provides that notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, in the
Sixteenth Judicial District, no more than 50% of revenues derived from cases going into
pretrial diversion and intervention programs shall be used or distributed to the district
attorney to defray the expenses of his office. The remainder shall be divided proportionately
according to existing allocations.
Effective August 15, 2010.
