SENATE BILL NO. 649
BY SENATOR HEBERT 
COURTS.  Provides that when multiparish judicial districts are divided, fund balances are
distributed according to how much each parish contributes.  (8/15/10)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 13:478, relative to district courts; to provide for fund allocation for certain2
divided judicial districts; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1.  R.S. 13:478 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 5
ยง478.  Fund allocation for divided multiparish judicial districts6
Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, when a7
multiparish judicial district is divided, the monies in any fund of the prior8
district shall be apportioned between the remaining district and the new district9
in proportion to the monies contributed from each parish into the fund in the10
calendar year prior to division.11
