(8/15/10) AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 40:2403B(1)(f), relative to Council on Peace Officer Standards2 and Training; to provide for the membership on the Council of Peace Officer3 Standards and Training; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 40:2403B(1)(f) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6 ยง2403. DIGEST Broome (SB 742) Present law provides for membership on the Council on Peace Officer Standards and Training to consist of the following: (a)The attorney general. (b)Three sheriffs, appointed by the governor. (c)Three police chiefs, appointed by the governor. (d)Two district attorneys, appointed by the governor. (e)The executive director of the commission on law enforcement. (f)The superintendent of state police. (g)The president of the Louisiana chapter of the National Constables' Association. Proposed law amends present law to allow the president/director of the Louisiana chapter of the National Constables' Association to be a member on the Council on Peace Officer Standards and Training; otherwise, retains present law. Effective August 15, 2010. (Amends R.S. 40:2403B(1)(f))
