FUNDS/FUNDING. Provides that funds derived from the Angola prison rodeo supplement
the Crime Victims Reparations Fund. (8/15/10)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 46:1816(B)(8), relative to the Crime Victims Reparations Act; to provide for2
funds composing the Crime Victims Reparations Fund; to provide for the inclusion3
of funds from the Angola rodeo at Louisiana State Penitentiary; and to provide for4
related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 46:1816(B)(8) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง1816.  Crime Victims Reparations Fund; creation; sources of funds; uses 8

B. The fund shall be composed of: 10

(8)  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, fifty percent12
of all monies collected at or in conjunction with the annual Angola rodeo at13
Louisiana State Penitentiary including, but not limited to, ticket sales,14
concessions, and sales of arts and crafts by the inmates.15

DIGEST
Present law provides that the Crime Victims Reparations Fund will be composed of the
following:
1. Monies derived from appropriations by the legislature.
2. All monies paid as a cost levied on criminal actions as provided by 	present law.
3. Any federal monies made available to the state for victim compensation.
4. All monies received from any action to recover damages for a crime which was the
basis of a reparations award under this Chapter.
5. Any restitution paid by an offender to a victim for damages for a crime which was
the basis of a reparations award under this Chapter.
6. Any monies paid into the fund from a criminal victim's escrow account as provided
by present law.
7. Any gift, grant, devise or bequest of monies or properties of any nature or
description.
Proposed law retains present law and adds to the fund 50% of all monies collected at or in
conjunction with the annual Angola rodeo at Louisiana State Penitentiary including, but not
limited to, ticket sales, concessions, and sales of arts and crafts by the inmates. 
Effective August 15, 2010.
