SENATE BILL NO. 77
BY SENATOR MCPHERSON 
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 48:2074 (D)(2),(6) and (7), relative to the Louisiana2
Transportation Authority; to provide that the chairman of the Senate Committee on3
Transportation, Highways and Public Works and the chairman of the House4
Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public works shall rotate as chairman5
of the board; and to provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. R.S. 48:2074 (D)(2),(6) and (7) are hereby amended and reenacted to read8
as follows: 9
ยง2074. Louisiana Transportation Authority; creation; board of directors; meetings;10
quorum11

D. The board shall be composed of nine directors who shall be the governing13
body of the authority with full power to promulgate rules and regulations for the14
maintenance and operation of said authority, subject to the approval of the House and15
Senate Committees on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, as follows:16

(2) The secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development or18
his designee, who shall serve as chairman of the board.19

(6) The chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and21
Public Works or his designee ,who shall serve as chairman on a two-year rotating22
basis with the chairman of the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways23
and Public Works.24
(7) The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways and25
Public Works Committee or his designee ,who shall serve on a two-year rotating26
basis with the chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, Highways27

and Public Works.1

Section 2. The chairman of the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways and3
Public Works shall serve as chairman beginning on January 1, 2011 and ending on4
December 31, 2012.  The chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, Highways5
and Public Works shall serve as chairman beginning on January 1, 2013 and ending on6
December 31, 2014. This two-year rotation shall continue unless otherwise provided by law.7
