AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 17:236.1(G), relative to home study programs; to provide that a high school2
diploma awarded by an approved home study program shall be recognized by certain3
educational institutions and governmental entities in the same manner as one4
awarded by an approved nonpublic school; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 17:236.1(G) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7

G. Notwithstanding any rule, regulation, or other provision of law to the10
contrary, a high school diploma awarded by a home study program approved11
by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education shall be deemed by12
all public postsecondary educational institutions, all state departments,13
agencies, boards, and commissions, and all other state and local governmental14
entities to have all of the rights and privileges afforded to a high school diploma15
awarded by a state-approved nonpublic school.16
