Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2010 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 109 BY SENATOR SMITH A RESOLUTION To commend DeLain Prewitt upon her retirement as administrator of the City of Leesville. WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend DeLaine Prewitt upon her retirement from the City of Leesville, where she has served with great distinction for forty years; and WHEREAS, she was born and raised in Leesville and attended Northwestern State University before marrying and moving to Texas for a short time; and WHEREAS, upon return to her hometown, she was asked to serve as assistant city administrator; and WHEREAS, she eventually assumed the position of city administrator and quickly became known as the "go to" person for all matters in local government; and WHEREAS, over her four decades of service she developed an unmatched wealth of experience and pool of city history that will be hard to replace; and WHEREAS, during her tenure she worked under seven different mayoral administrations and countless city council members, forging deep relations with each; and WHEREAS, she has been an integral part of the many advancements and achievements in Leesville city government, including the Keep America Beautiful Award in 2005 and 2007; and WHEREAS, she has been well known to the citizenry as a woman who loved her job, and performed it with dedication and enthusiasm, and who always made herself available to those who needed help; and WHEREAS, it is with heartfelt gratitude that the citizens of Leesville wish her well in her retirement. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend DeLaine Prewitt upon her retirement as administrator of the City of Leesville, hereby records for posterity her forty years of dedicated service, does hereby pay SR NO. 109 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 tribute to her for the generous and effective way in which she has dedicated her intelligence and her energy to the service of the people of Leesville, and does hereby extend to her every good wish for success and happiness in all of her future endeavors.
