A RESOLUTION
To commend Micah Webber and Karen Wagley for their placement at the 2010 National
Christian Forensics and Communications Association's Championship tournament.
WHEREAS, the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association is
a speech and debate league for home educated students, composed of roughly five thousand
competitors nationwide; and
WHEREAS, Micah and Karen competed in the Duo Interpretation category with an
interpretation of Harper Lee's award winning 1960 novel, To Kill a Mockingbird; and
WHEREAS, throughout the 2009-2010 school year, the duo of Micah and Karen,
competed in pre-regional tournaments across the four-state region, making up Region 7 for
the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association; and
WHEREAS, Region 7 for the National Christian Forensics and Communications
Association is comprised of students from Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee;
and
WHEREAS, in April, 2010, the duo reached the Region 7 2010 National Christian
Forensics and Communications Association's Regional Championship tournament in
Birmingham, Alabama, where Micah and Karen earned second place honors; and
WHEREAS, with the second place showing in regionals, the duo was selected to
compete against sixty other duo teams at the 2010 National Christian Forensics and
Communications Association's National Championship tournament in Virginia Beach,

WHEREAS, at Regent University, Micah and Karen faced against the best of the best
in the Duo Interpretation division and brought back to Louisiana a solid seventh place finish
from the 2010 National Christian Forensics and Communications Association's National
Championship tournament.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Micah Webber and Karen Wagley for their placement at the 2010
National Christian Forensics and Communications Association's Championship tournament.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Micah Webber and Karen Wagley.
