ACT No. 7 First Extraordinary Session, 2011 HOUSE BILL NO. 13 BY REPRESENTATIVE FANNIN AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 49:149.5(C) and 214.5.8(E), relative to provisions in Title 492 (State Administration) of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 which are limited3 in applicability to certain political subdivisions or local areas based upon population4 classifications; to specify applicability to one or more political subdivisions or local5 areas based upon population classifications; and to provide for related matters.6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7 Section 1. R.S. 49:149.5(C) and 214.5.8(E) are hereby amended and reenacted to8 read as follows: 9 §149.5. Parking and traffic violations; citations; fines 10 * * *11 C. The fines and penalties for parking and traffic violations shall be fixed12 according to the schedule of fines and penalties for similar violations in the parish13 in which the violations occur. The traffic court of parishes with a population in14 excess of four hundred seventy-five thousand Traffic Court of New Orleans, and the15 district court in other parishes, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over the parking and16 traffic violations that occur in their respective districts under the provisions of this17 Section. 18 * * *19 §214.5.8.
