LABOR DEPARTMENT:  Urges and requests the La. Workforce Commission to become
more efficient in correspondence
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request the Louisiana Workforce Commission to become more efficient in2
correspondence.3
WHEREAS, both the United States of America and the state of Louisiana are4
suffering a financial recession; and5
WHEREAS, during these times of fiscal hardship, state agencies and Louisiana6
citizens have had to cut spending wherever possible; and7
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the members of the legislature, by reports8
of constituents, that the correspondence from the Louisiana Workforce Commission,9
specifically the Adjudication Support Unit, is excessive at times; and10
WHEREAS, citizens have reported receiving numerous letters within a short time11
frame, some duplicative in nature, which not only can be overwhelming for the recipient, but12
is an enormous use of resources, including labor, paper, and postage.13
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby14
urge and request the Louisiana Workforce Commission, Adjudication Support Unit, to be15
more conservative in its use of resources, sending as few letters as practicable within short16
time frames.17
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the18
executive director of the Louisiana Workforce Commission.19 HLS 111ES-160	ORIGINAL
