ENROLLED Page 1 of 1 First Extraordinary Session, 2011 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 12 BY REPRESENTATIVE BROSSETT A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend the Consulate General of Ecuador upon reopening in New Orleans. WHEREAS, on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, the Consulate General of Ecuador reopened in the city of New Orleans, and it is appropriate to recognize this significant occasion; and WHEREAS, Ecuador previously had a consulate in New Orleans, but it had been closed since 2006; and WHEREAS, the consulate plans to serve approximately ten thousand Ecuadoreans living in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi; and WHEREAS, Luis Quinones has been named consul general for New Orleans; and WHEREAS, the consulate's reopening is a memorable and historic event for the city of New Orleans and its Ecuadorean residents that merits special acknowledgment. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana hereby commends Consulate General of Ecuador upon reopening in New Orleans.
