ENROLLED Page 1 of 1 First Extraordinary Session, 2011 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 16 BY REPRESENTATIVE CONNICK A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Mr. Charles Miller, Jr. WHEREAS, the legislature has learned of the passing of Charles Miller, Jr., a lifelong resident of Jefferson Parish and the beloved husband of Lorraine Coulon Miller; and WHEREAS, he was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974 and was retired from Delgado Community College, where he worked in the financial aid department for twenty years; and WHEREAS, he served countless years on various parish committees and boards and was very active with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for fourteen years; and WHEREAS, he always volunteered at school activities at Immaculate Conception School and was an active civic activist, seeking to improve the overall quality of life in Jefferson Parish; and WHEREAS, the passing of Charles Miller, Jr., will leave a void in the hearts of those that he loved and that loved him; and WHEREAS, this void will be filled with their cherished memories of him. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express its sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Charles Miller, Jr. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the family of Charles Miller, Jr. SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATI VES PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
