COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of
Government Accountants
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants.2
WHEREAS, the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) is a professional3
organization that has a network of fifteen thousand members in one hundred chapters in the4
United States and around the world; and5
WHEREAS, since 1950, AGA has been dedicated to serving those who are faced6
with the challenge of using government financial resources in the most effective manner7
possible and has been the vanguard organization addressing the issues and challenges facing8
government financial managers; and9
WHEREAS, the Baton Rouge Chapter of AGA has approximately one hundred sixty-10
one active members representing state, federal, municipal, and private sector accountants,11
auditors, and financial managers in Louisiana; and12
WHEREAS, AGA's Certified Government Financial Manager program is specially13
designed to help meet the critical need for greatly increased emphasis on the professional14
qualifications and stature of government financial managers, and this professional15
designation is designed specifically to recognize the unique skills and special knowledge16
required of professionals who specialize in government financial management; and17
WHEREAS, Governor Bobby Jindal has issued a proclamation designating March18
of 2011 as Certified Government Financial Management Month in Louisiana; and19
WHEREAS, during the celebration of Government Financial Management Month,20
the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants merits a special21 HLS 111ES-90 ORIGINAL

measure of commendation for the pride and honor it brings to the city of Baton Rouge and1
the state of Louisiana.2
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby3
commend the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants and does4
hereby extend to its members best wishes for continued success in their future endeavors.5
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted6
to the president of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants.7
