ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 First Extraordinary Session, 2011 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 6 BY REPRESENTATIVES BARROW AND HONORE AND SENATOR BROOME A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants. WHEREAS, the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) is a professional organization that has a network of fifteen thousand members in one hundred chapters in the United States and around the world; and WHEREAS, since 1950, AGA has been dedicated to serving those who are faced with the challenge of using government financial resources in the most effective manner possible and has been the vanguard organization addressing the issues and challenges facing government financial managers; and WHEREAS, the Baton Rouge Chapter of AGA has approximately one hundred sixty- one active members representing state, federal, municipal, and private sector accountants, auditors, and financial managers in Louisiana; and WHEREAS, AGA's Certified Government Financial Manager program is specially designed to help meet the critical need for greatly increased emphasis on the professional qualifications and stature of government financial managers, and this professional designation is designed specifically to recognize the unique skills and special knowledge required of professionals who specialize in government financial management; and WHEREAS, Governor Bobby Jindal has issued a proclamation designating March of 2011 as Certified Government Financial Management Month in Louisiana; and WHEREAS, during the celebration of Government Financial Management Month, the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants merits a special measure of commendation for the pride and honor it brings to the city of Baton Rouge and the state of Louisiana. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 6 Page 2 of 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants and does hereby extend to its members best wishes for continued success in their future endeavors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the president of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants.
