HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 11
BY REPRESENTATIVES DIXON, HAZEL, AND ROY
A RESOLUTION
To express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Captain Rickey L. Doyle, Sr.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Louisiana House of Representatives have learned of the death of Captain Rickey L. Doyle,
Sr., on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at the age of fifty-nine; and
WHEREAS, born on March 5, 1952, in Elizabeth, Louisiana, Rickey Doyle served
with great dedication and productivity as a captain and assistant warden with the Rapides
Parish Sheriff's Office for more than twenty-six years; he also served as head of security for
the Alexandria Aces Ball Club for more than fourteen years; and 
WHEREAS, Captain Doyle served with valor with the Louisiana National Guard
from February 26, 1970, until June 15, 1986; and
WHEREAS, an active member of his community, Captain Doyle was a member of
Hope Baptist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana, and worked security for Louisiana College,
Oak Hill High School, Hope Baptist School, Forest Hill Speedway, and Wayne Olsen
Fireworks, among others, and he hosted many fundraisers for various special causes; and
WHEREAS, Captain Doyle was preceded in death by his father, Lamar P. Doyle, and
his sister, Sandra L. Doyle Bruce; he is survived by his loving wife of twenty-eight years,
Pattie Thompson Doyle; his mother, Louvenia D. Doyle; two sons, Rickey L. Doyle, Jr., and
Eric T. Doyle; one daughter, Stacy Dennis; one brother, Thomas E. Doyle and his wife
Joanne; three grandchildren, Kandice and Blake Mosset and Jaylen Dennis; and numerous
nieces, nephews, and friends; and
WHEREAS, with the death of Captain Doyle, a truly generous, loving, and giving
man, Louisiana has lost one of her finest sons, a beloved individual who was widely
respected and admired for his kindness and integrity; and ENROLLEDHR NO. 11

WHEREAS, although the death of Captain Doyle has left a tremendous void in his
community, his memory shall live forever in the minds and hearts of all who were blessed
to know and love him.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the
death of Captain Rickey L. Doyle, Sr., does hereby record for posterity his singular
contributions and outstanding achievements, and does hereby express enduring appreciation
for the pride and honor that this fine gentleman will forever bring to Rapides Parish and to
the state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of Captain Rickey L. Doyle, Sr.
