HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 19
BY REPRESENTATIVE CORTEZ
A RESOLUTION
To commend the city of Youngsville upon being ranked number one on a list of the best
places to live in Louisiana.
WHEREAS, in March of 2011, the city of Youngsville was ranked number one on
a list, compiled by J.C. Grant of the Associated Content from Yahoo!, of the best places to
live in the state; and
WHEREAS, on this list of twenty municipalities in the state with a population of at
least two thousand people, Youngsville came out on top; and
WHEREAS, settled in the early 1800s by French Acadian farmers, Youngsville has
a rich history, and its population has been growing impressively for decades; and
WHEREAS, the people of Youngsville rightly take great pride in their beloved city,
which is widely admired for its many infrastructure improvements and actions that raise the
standard of living for its residents; and
WHEREAS, Youngsville has the highest per capita income in Lafayette Parish; and
WHEREAS, people throughout Louisiana and beyond are invited and encouraged
to visit Youngsville and experience some of the best that Louisiana has to offer; and
WHEREAS, Youngsville is a wonderful place to live, work, and play, and the city
merits sincere congratulations and heartfelt commendation upon the memorable and historic
occasion of receiving this special designation.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the city of Youngsville upon being ranked
number one on a list of the best places to live in Louisiana and does hereby extend enduring
appreciation to the people of Youngsville for the tremendous honor that they bring to
Lafayette Parish and to the state of Louisiana. ENROLLEDHR NO. 19

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the mayor, the chief of police, and each member of the city council of Youngsville.
