A RESOLUTION
To express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of former state representative
Thomas "Bud" Brady.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Louisiana House of Representatives have learned of the death of their friend and former
colleague, Thomas "Bud" Brady, on Friday, April 1, 2011, at the age of seventy-two; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brady was born in Urania, Louisiana, and was a graduate of LaSalle
High School and Northwestern State University; and 
WHEREAS, upon his election to the Louisiana House of Representatives in 1976,
where he served until 1988, Mr. Brady used every opportunity as an able and productive
legislator to serve his constituency in Caldwell, Grant, LaSalle, Rapides, and Winn parishes
and the citizens of the state of Louisiana in an honorable and dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, as a state representative, Mr. Brady steadfastly endeavored to improve
the welfare of the citizens of Louisiana and served diligently on committees including the
House Committee on Education and the House Committee on Administration of Criminal
Justice, on which he served as vice chairman; and ENROLLEDHR NO. 22

WHEREAS, during his distinguished tenure as a state representative, Mr. Brady
tended to the concerns of his constituents and was committed to helping the needy, elderly,
and underprivileged; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brady was preceded in death by his son, Roderick Edward Brady,
and is survived by his daughters, Cecelia and Charlane; and
WHEREAS, the death of Mr. Brady has left a great void and created a genuine sense
of sorrow in all who knew him, including the members of the House family, all of whom
mourn the loss of this wonderful man who served his state and this institution so well; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brady leaves behind a rich and unique legacy and is greatly missed
by all whose lives he touched through his commitment to public service and his dedication
to his fellow citizens.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the
death of former state representative Thomas "Bud" Brady, does hereby recognize and record
for posterity his notable accomplishments and singular contributions during his twelve-year
tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, and does
hereby extend enduring appreciation for the pride and honor that this wonderful man will
forever bring to his family, his community, and his state. 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of Thomas "Bud" Brady.
