COMMENDATIONS: Commends the White Castle High School Bulldogs basketball team
upon winning the 2011 Class 1A state championship
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the White Castle High School boys' basketball team upon winning the 20112
Class 1A state championship.3
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the White Castle High School boys'4
basketball team upon the completion of a sensational 2010-2011 season and to congratulate5
the players and coaches on winning the Class 1A state basketball championship; and6
WHEREAS, the Bulldogs claimed the state championship title at the Lafayette7
Cajundome on Saturday, March 12, 2011, by defeating the Southern Lab Kittens in a8
thrilling victory with a final score of 66-65; and9
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence,10
and each intrepid Bulldog deserves recognition for his vital contribution to the winning11
effort; and12
WHEREAS, senior Ronald Martin was voted Class 1A's Most Outstanding Player13
in the Top 28 tournament game; and14
WHEREAS, Coach Ronald Johnson and his coaching staff have demonstrated the15
kind of leadership and motivational skills needed to produce winners both on and off the16
court; and17
WHEREAS, the team's championship season upholds the glorious tradition of the18

WHEREAS, the White Castle High School boys' basketball team merits a special1
measure of commendation for the tremendous honor and pride that it brings to its school and2
community and to the state of Louisiana.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the4
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the players and coaches of the White Castle5
High School boys' basketball team for winning the 2011 Class 1A state championship, does6
hereby express sincere and heartfelt congratulations to the Bulldogs in recognition of their7
outstanding athletic abilities and their highly successful season, and does hereby extend best8
wishes for continued success in the future.9
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted10
to Coach Ronald Johnson.11
