ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 First Extraordinary Session, 2011 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 5 BY REPRESENTATIVE AUBERT A RESOLUTION To commend the White Castle High School boys' basketball team upon winning the 2011 Class 1A state championship. WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the White Castle High School boys' basketball team upon the completion of a sensational 2010-2011 season and to congratulate the players and coaches on winning the Class 1A state basketball championship; and WHEREAS, the Bulldogs claimed the state championship title at the Lafayette Cajundome on Saturday, March 12, 2011, by defeating the Southern Lab Kittens in a thrilling victory with a final score of 66-65; and WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence, and each intrepid Bulldog deserves recognition for his vital contribution to the winning effort; and WHEREAS, senior Ronald Martin was voted Class 1A's Most Outstanding Player in the Top 28 tournament game; and WHEREAS, Coach Ronald Johnson and his coaching staff have demonstrated the kind of leadership and motivational skills needed to produce winners both on and off the court; and WHEREAS, the team's championship season upholds the glorious tradition of the Bulldogs; and WHEREAS, the White Castle High School boys' basketball team merits a special measure of commendation for the tremendous honor and pride that it brings to its school and community and to the state of Louisiana. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the players and coaches of the White Castle High School boys' basketball team for winning the 2011 Class 1A state championship, does ENROLLEDHR NO. 5 Page 2 of 2 hereby express sincere and heartfelt congratulations to the Bulldogs in recognition of their outstanding athletic abilities and their highly successful season, and does hereby extend best wishes for continued success in the future.
