AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 30:2055.2(A), relative to provisions of Title 30 (Minerals, Oil,2
and Gas and Environmental Quality) of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950,3
which are limited in applicability to certain political subdivisions or local areas based4
upon population classifications; to specify applicability to one or more political5
subdivisions or local areas; and to provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1.  R.S. 30:2055.2(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:8
ยง2055.2.  Odor nuisance ordinances9
A. The governing authority of 	any municipality having a population of10
greater than one hundred twenty-five thousand persons but not exceeding two11
hundred twenty-five thousand persons as of the most recent federal decennial census12
the city of Shreveport shall have the power to enact ordinances to control and abate13
odor nuisances. Such ordinances shall provide that no person shall cause or allow14
the emission of odorous air contaminants from any single source that result in15
detectable odors.16
