SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 16
BY SENATOR ERDEY 
A RESOLUTION
To commend Meghan Stringfellow upon achieving the Girl Scout Gold Award.
WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts of America has a long tradition across this great country
of building courage, confidence, and character, and making the world a better place; and
WHEREAS, the Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting,
and since 1918, the award has been bestowed upon those young women who have
demonstrated a special commitment to themselves, their community, and the future; and 
WHEREAS, each recipient must complete extensive requirements designed to help
her values, knowledge, skills and leadership abilities; and
WHEREAS, because her Girl Scout Gold Award project has enhanced her interests
and talents, and provides a lasting, positive influence on her community, Meghan
Stringfellow of Denham Springs, was selected by the Girl Scouts of America to be one of
only ten young ladies in the region to receive this high honor; and
WHEREAS, she is being commended for applying the basic values and ideals of Girl
Scouting to her life and is prepared for a lifetime of service as a contributing member of her
community; and
WHEREAS, because Meghan Stringfellow has demonstrated the commitment to
herself and her community to earn this prestigious award, she is a shining example of the
leadership and discipline that make the Girl Scouts of America an honored and esteemed
organization.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Meghan Stringfellow on achieving the Girl Scout Gold Award.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Meghan Stringfellow and the Girl Scouts Louisiana East Program Department.
