AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 32:365(A)(1), relative to equipment of motor vehicles; restricts2
the use or installation of a television receiver, screen, or other means of visually3
receiving a television broadcast or video signal in a motor vehicle; removes the4
requirement for a television receiver or screen to be located behind the driver's seat;5
and to provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. R.S. 32:365(A)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:8
ยง365.  Television9
A.(1) Except as provided in this Section, no person shall drive a motor10
vehicle which is equipped with a television receiver, screen, or other means of11
visually receiving a television broadcast or a video signal that produces12
entertainment or business applications, which is located in the motor vehicle at any13
point forward of the back of the driver's seat, or which is where the moving images14
are visible to the driver while operating the motor vehicle is in motion. Additionally,15
no retailer shall install a television receiver, screen, or other means of receiving a16
visual television broadcast or video signal that produces entertainment or business17
applications, in a motor vehicle at any point forward of the back of the driver's seat18
or at any point which would make the device moving images visible to the driver19

shall also apply to "digital versatile disc" or "digital video disc" players which are1
also commonly known as DVD players.2
