HOUSE BILL NO. 598

APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
DOTD in the matter of "Jacqueline Miller, et al v. City of New Iberia, et al"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2011-2
2012 to be used to pay the consent judgment against the state in the suit entitled3
"Jacqueline Miller, et al v. City of New Iberia and Security Finance Corporation, et4
al"; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  The sum of Four Thousand and No/100 ($4,000.00) Dollars is hereby7
appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2011-2012 to8
be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Jacqueline Miller, et al v. City of9
New Iberia and Security Finance Corporation, et al", bearing Number 106,703 Division A10
on the docket of the Sixteenth Judicial District Court, parish of Iberia, state of Louisiana.11
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2011; if vetoed by the governor12
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,13
2011, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 14
