HOUSE BILL NO. 61
BY REPRESENTATIVE JOHNSON
APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Tanya Duplantis, et al v. State of Louisiana DOTD"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2011-2
2012  to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Tanya Duplantis,3
individually and as natural tutrix of her minor son, Joshua Jarreau v. State of4
Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and Development, et al"; and5
to provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. The sum of One Hundred Forty-Four Thousand and No/1008
($144,000.00) Dollars to be apportioned as follows: Seventy-One Thousand Five Hundred9
and No/100 ($71,500.00) Dollars in favor of plaintiff, Tanya Duplantis, and Seventy-Two10
Thousand Five Hundred and No/100 ($72,500.00) Dollars in favor of plaintiff, Joshua11
Duplantis, is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal12
Year 2011-2012 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Tanya Duplantis,13
individually and as natural tutrix of her minor son, Joshua Jarreau v. State of Louisiana,14
through the Department of Transportation and Development, et al", bearing Number 2005-15
7745A on the docket of the Twelfth Judicial District Court, parish of Avoyelles, state of16
Louisiana.17
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2011; if vetoed by the governor18
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,19
2011, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 20 HLS 11RS-567	ORIGINAL
