A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable Noble E. Ellington and to express enduring gratitude for his
outstanding contributions to Caldwell, Catahoula, Franklin, and Tensas parishes and
the state of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of
the Louisiana House of Representatives.
WHEREAS, Noble Ellington is a public servant who has served with excellence as
a state representative since taking office in 1988, during which time he has fully used every
opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an honorable and dedicated
manner; and
WHEREAS, a cotton merchant, Representative Ellington earned a bachelor of
science degree from Louisiana Tech University; and
WHEREAS, Representative Ellington has served for twenty-four years in the
legislature; he first served in the House for two terms, from 1988 until 1996, and he was then
elected to the Senate, where he served for three terms, from 1996 until 2004, before
returning to the House in 2008; and 
WHEREAS, Representative Ellington has served as a member of the Louisiana
Republican Legislative Delegation and the Louisiana Rural Caucus; and
WHEREAS, in his final House term, Representative Ellington's diligent committee
service has included serving as vice chairman of the Legislative Audit Advisory Council and ENROLLEDHR NO. 127

as a member of the House Committee on Appropriations, the House Committee on
Insurance, the House Committee on Judiciary, the House Executive Committee, the Joint
Legislative Committee on the Budget, the House Committee on Homeland Security, the
Joint Committee on Homeland Security, and the Special Committee on Military and
Veterans Affairs; and
WHEREAS, during his time in the legislature, Representative Ellington has worked
on and supported many important pieces of legislation, and he has been very active in
regional and national organizations for many years, including the American Legislative
Exchange Council (ALEC), of which he serves as the 2011 national chairman, and the
Southern Legislative Conference (SLC), having served formerly as the chair of its
Agricultural and Rural Development Committee; and
WHEREAS, as he prepares to begin the next exciting and productive chapter of his
life, Representative Ellington merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional legislator.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana hereby commends the Honorable Noble E. Ellington, hereby
extends honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments, particularly
during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been
marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in
Caldwell, Catahoula, Franklin, and Tensas parishes and the citizens of the state of Louisiana,
and hereby pays tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated
his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Ellington for his service to the citizens of
Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
body, and hereby extends to him the best wishes of all of his colleagues for continued
prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the Honorable Noble Ellington.
