GERMAIN, STIAES, TALBOT, TEMPLET, THIBAUT, THIERRY, TUCKER, WHITE, WILLIAMS, WILLMOTT, AND WOOTON A RESOLUTION To commend Dr. Ken Ward, legislative ethicist and coordinator of chaplain services, for his dedicated services to the Louisiana House of Representatives. WHEREAS, in 1976 Dr. Ken Ward left his teaching role at the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge to join the Louisiana Moral and Civic Foundation, which was organized in 1942 for the purpose of helping people of all faiths and those without faith to work together to make a better Louisiana, as director of the legal and legislative division, and he became executive director, soon thereafter; and WHEREAS, Dr. Ken Ward is uniquely qualified to work with and for the legislature by his formal study, earning his doctor of philosophy degree from Louisiana State University and publishing his dissertation on the topic of legislative ethics, his hands-on experience of monitoring and interacting with the legislative process for over 35 years, and his genuine dedication to and love for the members of the Louisiana Legislature; and WHEREAS, members of the House of Representatives often attribute Dr. Ken Ward's assistance in understanding some of the complex issues that face them, and his presence in the house chamber as a positive influence on the decorum and spirit of civility and cooperation; and ENROLLEDHR NO. 151 Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the members of this House of Representatives to extend sincere appreciation to Dr. Ken Ward for his dedicated services as ethicist and coordinator of chaplain services, and for the unwavering integrity, wisdom, and respect that he gladly shares with us. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend to Dr. Ken Ward our heartfelt appreciation and best wishes for his continued success as legislative ethicist and coordinator of chaplain services for the Louisiana House of Representatives and in all of his endeavors.
