HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 22

A RESOLUTION
To recognize Tuesday, May 3, 2011, as Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors Day
at the Louisiana State Capitol.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors is celebrating its one
hundred third year of professional surveyor licensure, having first issued licenses in 1908
to J.B. Bice, C.P. Couvillion, and R.A. Crowson; and
WHEREAS, in 2011, the society hosted its fiftieth annual conference; and
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors follow rules of professional conduct in
order to safeguard life, health, and property and promote the public welfare; and
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors establish and maintain a high standard
of integrity in the performance of their professional duties; and
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors are committed to maintaining the
highest levels of professional quality and to keeping abreast of the most advanced
technology in their field, including global positioning, mapping, and spatial referencing, as
they seek to ensure the provision of state-of-the-art surveying services to the citizens of
Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to set aside a special day in recognition of the Louisiana
Society of Professional Surveyors and its members' unwavering commitment to excellence.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Tuesday, May 3, 2011, as Louisiana Society
of Professional Surveyors Day at the Louisiana State Capitol. ENROLLEDHR NO. 22

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the president of the board of directors of the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors.
