SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 94
BY SENATOR MORRISH AND REPRESENTATIVE GUINN 
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of Louise Martin Breedlove.
WHEREAS, it is with great regret that the citizens of Louisiana have learned of the
death of Louise Martin Breedlove on June 2, 2011 at the age of eighty-four; and
WHEREAS, Louise Martin was born on December 1, 1926, to Edward Parker Martin
and Anaice Broussard Martin; and
WHEREAS, she was a native of Sulphur and a resident of Lake Arthur since 1929;
and
WHEREAS, Louise Martin Breedlove was a devout member of Our Lady of the
Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur serving as a Lay Minister and performing a
tremendous amount of volunteer work, and was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters,
Court Father Charles Kirk in Lake Arthur for over sixty years; and
WHEREAS, she also worked the voting polls where she served as a commissioner
in charge and commissioner in Lake Arthur for over thirty-five years; and
WHEREAS, she always wore a smile and loved life itself and upon her death the
world lost a unique individual who left an indelible mark upon the lives of all those who
knew her; and
WHEREAS, Louise Breedlove was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother,
Edward "Buddy" Martin; and
WHEREAS, she is survived by her husband; her daughters, Cynthia Breedlove and
Kaye Hackell and husband Robert; a sister, Cam Pearson; three grandchildren; and eleven
great-grandchildren; and SCR NO. 94	ENROLLED

WHEREAS, Louise Martin Breedlove was a loving, devoted, and dedicated wife to
Isaac Breedlove who she married three weeks after meeting and remained married to the
love of her life for sixty-six years, and through this destined union, they were blessed with
two beautiful daughters; and
WHEREAS, she was a proud and committed grandmother, great-grandmother, sister
and relative whose love of family and friends was of the utmost importance in her life; and
WHEREAS, the death of Louise Martin Breedlove has left a void in our state and in
her community and has created a genuine sense of profound sorrow in her friends and
family.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana honors the life
of Louise Martin Breedlove and expresses sincere condolences to her family upon the
occasion of her death.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to her
husband, Issac Breedlove.
