Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2011 ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 99 BY SENATOR SMITH AND REPRESENTATIVES ARMES, DANAHAY, GEYMANN, HILL AND HOWARD A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend and congratulate Beauregard Parish Assessor Bobby Cudd upon his retirement on December 31, 2012, after thirty-six years of service as assessor, chief deputy, and deputy assessor. WHEREAS, Bobby Cudd was born in Winnfield, and attended elementary school in Oakdale and Leesville; and WHEREAS, he and his family moved to the Burr Ferry community and he attended Evans High School, graduating with honors; and WHEREAS, Bobby Cudd earned an accounting certificate from a vocational school in Many; and WHEREAS, after working several years at Fort Polk and in DeRidder businesses, he began work at the Beauregard Parish Assessor's office as a deputy assessor; and WHEREAS, in 1978, Bobby Cudd was appointed to the position of Chief Deputy Assessor; and WHEREAS, he was elected to the office of Beauregard Parish Assessor in 1995, was sworn into office on January 1, 1997, and was reelected without opposition to three additional terms; and WHEREAS, during Bobby Cudd's terms as assessor, he modernized the office by instituting a computerized taxroll, provided aerial photography for mapping ownership, and is in the process of implementing a computerized mapping system; and WHEREAS, he is a loving husband to Evelyn West Cudd, a devoted father to David and Craig, a caring father-in-law to Tracy and Tara, and a proud grandfather of Shelby, Conner, Abigail and Alex; and SCR NO. 99 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, Bobby Cudd has been a pillar of the community, serving in leadership capacities on numerous civic, charitable, and professional boards, including the DeRidder Kiwanis Club, the Beauregard Community Action Association, the South Beauregard Water System, and the DeRidder Rodeo Association; and WHEREAS, as faith is a very important part of his life, Bobby Cudd is an active member of the First Baptist Church in DeRidder; and WHEREAS, after a lifetime of public service, retirement is well-deserved. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Beauregard Parish Assessor Bobby Cudd upon his retirement on December 31, 2012, after thirty-six years of service as assessor and deputy assessor.
