Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2011 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 145 BY SENATOR BROOME A RESOLUTION To recognize Wednesday, June 22, 2011, as Young Democrats of Louisiana Day in the state of Louisiana and to commend the Young Democrats of Louisiana for its manifold contributions to the state of Louisiana throughout its long and illustrious history. WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the Young Democrats of Louisiana and to recognize Wednesday, June 22, 2011, as Young Democrats of Louisiana Day in the state of Louisiana; and WHEREAS, the Young Democrats of Louisiana's mission is to bring young people into the democratic process and engage them with educationally stimulating activities; and WHEREAS, the Young Democrats of Louisiana's purpose is recruiting new Democrats and registering them to vote; and WHEREAS, the organization has a long history of training Young Democrats to be effective campaign volunteers and field workers; and WHEREAS, Young Democrats of Louisiana believe in educating young voters on the issues that matter to them; and WHEREAS, the organization has thrived in leading campaign invasions to help Democrats win elections; and WHEREAS, encouraging and assisting young people to run for elected office is a Young Democrats of Louisiana strong point; and WHEREAS, Young Democrats of Louisiana have consistently communicated the Democratic message to young voters using the Internet, email, and web blogs. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Wednesday, June 22, 2011, as Young Democrats of Louisiana Day and does hereby commend the Young Democrats of Louisiana for its manifold contributions to the state of Louisiana throughout its long and illustrious history.
