A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the
family of Louisiana National Guard Sergeant Micah David upon his untimely death
after battling cancer, and for his brave and faithful service to our state and nation
during our Global War on Terrorism.
WHEREAS, Sergeant David was born on December 30, 1985, in Monroe, Louisiana,
and resided in Olla, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, his favorite hobbies included fishing and gun collecting; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant David was a brave and dedicated soldier active in the
Louisiana National Guard and volunteered for service overseas in support of Operation
Enduring Freedom; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant David received numerous awards for his bravery and service,
which included the coveted Combat Action Badge; and
WHEREAS, he was proud to serve his country in defense of our freedoms, and our
state and nation will keep his memory alive and burning bright; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant David lost his battle with cancer on December 5, 2010, in Olla,
Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, before his short time on earth was through he brought joy to many
people, and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Lacey,
son, Hayden, his parents, Donna and Mike, along with his sisters, brother, and extended
family, military family, and friends; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant David will always be remembered as an American hero, an SR NO. 49 ENROLLED

amazing husband, father, soldier, and friend.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby extend its deepest and most profound condolences to the family of Louisiana
National Guard Sergeant Micah David upon his tragic and untimely death after bravely
battling cancer, and for his brave and faithful service to our state and nation during
Operation Enduring Freedom.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Sergeant Micah David.
