HOUSE BILL NO. 1041

AN ACT1
To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer2
of certain state property in Terrebonne Parish; to provide for the property3
description; to provide for reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and4
conditions; to provide an effective date; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. The commissioner of the division of administration, notwithstanding any7
other provision of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and empowered to convey,8
transfer, assign, lease, or deliver any interest, excluding mineral rights, the state may have9
to all or any portion of the following described parcel of property, including any10
improvements thereon, to Terrebonne Parish:11
A certain portion of ground, situated in the city of Houma Louisiana, in12
Terrebonne Parish, in the area therein bounded by Legion Avenue, Williams Street,13
Ruth Street, and Park Avenue; said portion is shown on a survey by John E. Walker,14
Civil Engineer, dated December 14, 1966, and is more particularly described as15
follows:16
Beginning at the intersection of the south margin of Legion Avenue with the17
east margin of Williams Street; thence S82° 08'E along the south margin of Legion18
Avenue a distance of 235.40 feet; thence S08° 57'W a distance of 100.00 feet; thence19
east margin of Williams Street a distance of 100.01 feet to the point of beginning.20
Section 2. The commissioner of the division of administration is hereby authorized21
to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to execute such22
documents as necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease,23
or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, to the property described in Section 1, and as24
more specifically described in any such agreements entered into and documents executed25
by and between the commissioner and Terrebonne Parish, in exchange of consideration26
proportionate to the appraised value of the property.  Such agreement shall provide that the27
cost to remove any improvements on the parcel of property described in Section 1 shall be28

Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not1
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature2
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If3
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become4
effective on the day following such approval.5
