APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Arthur Waller, et al v. State of La., Dept. of Health and Hospitals"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2
2013 to be used to pay the judgment in the suit entitled "Arthur Waller, Robin3

court costs; and to provide for related matters.8
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:9
Section 1. The sum of Six Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Six Hundred and 35/10010
($624,600.35) Dollars, plus legal interest from July 3, 2007 until paid, plus court costs in the11
amount of One Thousand Two Hundred Thirty-Eight and 21/100 ($1,238.21) Dollars, is12
hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-13
2013 to be used to pay the judgment in the suit entitled "Arthur Waller, Robin Jackson, Essie14
Iles, Martha Metoyer, Dorothy Marks, Glenda Gayle Semien, Michael Prier, Vontrecia15

on the docket of the Third Circuit Court of Appeal, state of Louisiana.9
Section 2. The judgment provided for in Section 1 hereof shall be deemed to have10
been paid on the effective date of this Act and legal interest shall cease to run as of that date.11
Section 3. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012; if vetoed by the governor12
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012,13
or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 14
