AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 26:71.1(1)(h) and 271.2(1)(h) and to enact R.S. 26:73(C)(6) and2
272(C)(6), relative to permits issued by the commissioner of alcohol and tobacco3
control; to provide for Class A-General retail permits for low and high alcoholic4
beverages; to require a Class A-General retail establishment to adhere to certain5
guidelines relative to public restrooms; to require the retail establishment to obtain6
proof of compliance from the office of public health; to prohibit the issuance of7
certain permits to establishments engaged in certain live entertainment; and to8
provide for related matters.9
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:10
Section 1. R.S. 26:71.1(1)(h) and 271.2(1)(h) are hereby amended and reenacted and11
R.S. 26:73(C)(6) and 272(C)(6) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 12
§71.1.  Class A permit; definitions13
The commissioner shall issue the following four types of Class A retail liquor14
permits:15
(1)  Class A-General:16

(h)  The commissioner shall promulgate rules regarding requirements related18
to the number and location of public restrooms to be used in conjunction with the19
licensed premises of each Class A-General retail permit A Class A-General retail20
establishment shall comply with the Department of Health and Hospitals guidelines21
for the required number of public restrooms and their locations within the retail22
establishment and shall provide documentation of compliance from the office of23
public health.24

(6)  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, no local or state5
Class "R" restaurant permit shall be issued to any establishment that provides the6
type of live entertainment described in R.S. 26:90(E).7

§271.2.  Class A permit; definitions9

permits for beverages of low alcoholic content:11
