APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
the state in the matter of "James Blalock, et al v. Clive P. Bridges, et al" consolidated
with "Rochelle Carona v. Sate of Louisiana, et al" consolidated with "Clive Bridges
v. DOTD"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2
2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment in favor of plaintiff Clive P. Bridges,3
III, in the suit entitled "James Blalock and Carly Hitzman on behalf of their minor4
child, Kalyn Blalock v. Clive P. Bridges, III, Direct General Insurance Company,5
GEICO General Insurance Company, Safeco Insurance Company of America, Boone6
Services, Inc., and Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development"7
consolidated with "Rochelle M. Carona v. State of Louisiana, through the8
Department of Transportation and Development" consolidated with "Clive P.9
Bridges v. Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development"; and to10
provide for related matters.11
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:12
Section 1. The sum of One Hundred Fifty Thousand and No/100 ($150,000.00)13
Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal14
Year 2012-2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment in favor of plaintiff Clive P.15
Bridges, III, in the suit entitled "James Blalock and Carly Hitzman on behalf of their minor16
child, Kalyn Blalock v. Clive P. Bridges, III, Direct General Insurance Company, GEICO17
General Insurance Company, Safeco Insurance Company of America, Boone Services, Inc.,18
and Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development" consolidated with "Rochelle19

Development" consolidated with "Clive P. Bridges v. Louisiana Department of1
Transportation and Development", bearing Numbers 88,836, Division "D"; 89,263, Division2
"D"; and 89,292, Division "D", respectively, on the docket of the Twenty-Third Judicial3
District Court, parish of Ascension, state of Louisiana.4
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012; if vetoed by the governor5
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,6
2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 7
