AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 33:447.9, relative to the mayor's court in the town of Sterlington; to authorize2
an increase in court costs for violations of municipal ordinances; to provide for the3
allocation of additional funds; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 33:447.9 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6
ยง447.9.  Mayor's court; town of Sterlington; additional court costs7
Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the mayor of the8
town of Sterlington may impose additional court costs not to exceed ten dollars for9
each offense, as defined by ordinance, on any defendant convicted of a violation of10
a municipal ordinance.  Any additional amount in court costs collected pursuant to11
this Section shall be allocated to the Sterlington Police Department.12
