APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
the state in the matter of "Mardel Von Solow, et al, and Paul Williams Marks and
Belinda Boutte Migues, et al v. DOTD"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2
2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Mardel Von Solow,3
individually, and as Natural Tutrix of her minor child, Paul Jason Sokol, and Paul4
William Marks and Belinda Boutte Migues, individually, and as Natural Co-Tutors5
of their minor child, Daylan Joseph Marks v. State of Louisiana, through the6
Department of Transportation and Development "; and to provide for related matters.7
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8
Section 1. The sum of Twenty-Five Thousand and No/100 ($25,000.00) Dollars in9
favor of Mardell Von Solow; the sum of Seven Thousand Four Hundred Thirty-Seven and10
47/100 ($7,437.47) Dollars in favor of Paul Sokol; and the sum of Nine Thousand Five11
Hundred Nine and 04/100 ($9,509.04) Dollars in favor of Daylan Marks is hereby12
appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 to13
be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Mardel Von Solow, individually,14
and as Natural Tutrix of her minor child, Paul Jason Sokol, and Paul William Marks and15
Belinda Boutte Migues, individually, and as Natural Co-Tutors of their minor child, Daylan16
Joseph Marks v. State of Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and17
Development", bearing Number 95947, Division "H", on the docket of the Sixteenth Judicial18

Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012; if vetoed by the governor1
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,2
2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 3
