HOUSE BILL NO. 189

APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
DOTD in the matter of "Katherine Ernst v. Steven Tucker Jefferson, et al"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2
2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment against the Department of3
Transportation and Development in the suit entitled "Katherine Ernst v. Steven4
Tucker Jefferson, et al"; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. The sum of Ten Thousand and No/100 ($10,000.00) Dollars, is hereby7
appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 to8
be used to pay the consent judgment against the Department of Transportation and9
Development in the suit entitled "Katherine Ernst v. Steven Tucker Jefferson, et al", bearing10
Number 2006-000349 on the docket of the Sixth Judicial District Court, parish of Madison,11
state of Louisiana.12
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012; if vetoed by the governor13
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,14
2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 15 HLS 12RS-495	ORIGINAL
