APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
the state in the matter of "Lucas Morphis, et al v. Richard S. Brown, et al through
DOTD"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2
2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Lucas Morphis,3
Larry Morphis and Susan B. Morphis v. Richard S. Brown, Carol Rainey d/b/a4
Security Pawn and Metal and/or Security Metal Roofing, Lafayette Insurance5
Company and State of Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and6
Development"; and to provide for related matters.7
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8
Section 1. The sum of Twenty-Five Thousand and No/100 ($25,000.00) Dollars is9
hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-10
2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Lucas Morphis, Larry11
Morphis and Susan B. Morphis v. Richard S. Brown, Carol Rainey d/b/a Security Pawn and12
Metal and/or Security Metal Roofing, Lafayette Insurance Company and State of Louisiana,13
through the Department of Transportation and Development", bearing Number 33,003 on14
the docket of the Twenty-Eighth Judicial District Court, parish of LaSalle, state of Louisiana.15
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012; if vetoed by the governor16
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,17
2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 18 HLS 12RS-691 ORIGINAL
