HOUSE BILL NO. 286
BY REPRESENTATIVE BILLIOT AND SENATOR ALARIO
APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Jerry Powdrill, Amy Walker Landrum and Harry Walker, Individually and
for the Estate of Glenda Powdrill v. State of La., DOTD"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2
2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Jerry Powdrill, Amy3
Walker Landrum and Harry Walker, Individually and for the Estate of Glenda4
Powdrill v. State of Louisiana, Department of Transportation and Development"; and5
to provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. The sum of One Hundred Forty-One Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-Six8
and 67/100 ($141,666.67) Dollars in favor of Jerry Powdrill, the sum of One Hundred Forty-9
One Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-Six and 66/100 ($141,666.66) Dollars in favor of Amy10
Walker Landrum, and the sum of the sum of One Hundred Forty-One Thousand Six11
Hundred Sixty-Six and 66/100 ($141,666.66) Dollars in favor of plaintiff, Harold Walker,12
Jr., is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year13
2012-2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Jerry Powdrill, Amy14
Walker Landrum and Harry Walker, Individually and for the Estate of Glenda Powdrill v.15
State of Louisiana, Department of Transportation and Development", bearing Number16
569809, Section 26, on the docket of the Nineteenth Judicial District Court, parish of East17

Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012; if vetoed by the governor1
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,2
2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 3
