ENVIRONMENT/AIR:  Provide for certain weather instruments at certain facilities
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 30:2054(B)(11), relative to required equipment for certain air sources;2
provides for the installation and maintenance of certain weather equipment; provides3
for data recorded from such instruments; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 30:2054(B)(11) is hereby enacted to read as follows:6
ยง2054. Air quality control; secretary of 	environmental quality the Department of7
Environmental Quality; powers and duties8

B.  The secretary shall have the following powers and duties:10

(11) To adopt and promulgate rules and regulations requiring permitted air12
sources emitting particulate matter to install and maintain weather equipment that13
measures and records wind speed and direction.  The data from such instruments14

weather equipment that measures and records wind speed and direction.
Present law provides for the powers and duties of the secretary of the Dept. of
Environmental Quality with respect to air quality control.
Proposed law provides the secretary authority to adopt and promulgate rules and regulations
requiring permitted air sources emitting particulate matter to install and maintain weather
equipment that measures and records wind speed and direction.
Proposed law requires the data from such instruments be retained for three years.
