Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE BILL NO. 488 BY REPRESENTATIVE HENSGENS SALES/TOBACCO TRADE: Provides with respect to manufacturers of tobacco products AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 26:901(6), relative to tobacco products; to provide for the2 definition of "manufacturer"; to provide with respect to persons who provide a3 vending machine that allows a consumer to process tobacco into a roll or tube; and4 to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 26:901(6) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง901. Present law defines "manufacturer" for purposes of tobacco laws. Proposed law expands the definition of "manufacturer" to include a person who maintains a vending machine at any retail establishment that allows a consumer to process tobacco or any product derived from tobacco that can be made into a roll or tube for sale to the consumer. (Amends R.S. 26:901(6))
