MTR VEHICLE/OFFICE: Provides OMV with authority to place advertisements on certain
material
AN ACT1
To enact Part XVII of Chapter 3 of Title 32 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to2
be comprised of R.S. 32:682, relative to the office of motor vehicles; to permit3
placement of advertisements on the office of motor vehicles' mailings, facilities, and4
website; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. Part XVII of Chapter 3 of Title 32 of the Louisiana Revised Statues of7
1950, comprised of R.S. 32:682, is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8
PART XVII.  ADVERTISEMENTS9
ยง682. Advertisement on Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of10
motor vehicles, mailings, public facilities, and website11
A. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of motor12
vehicles, is hereby authorized to sell advertisement space on official mailings of the13
office of motor vehicles, public facilities or websites owned or maintained by the14
office of motor vehicles.15
B. The department shall establish appropriate and reasonable fees for16
advertisement on mailings, public facilities, and websites.17
C. Fees collected for advertisements shall  be forwarded to the state treasurer18
for deposit into the Office of Motor Vehicles Customer Service and Technology19

collected pursuant to this Section shall be used on existing technology within the1
Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of motor vehicles.2
D. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of motor3
vehicles, shall adopt rules and regulations in accordance with the Administrative4
Procedure Act, subject to oversight by the House and Senate committees on5
transportation, highways and public works, as are necessary to implement the6
provisions of this  Section.7
