APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Guy C. Sharpless v. La. Dept. of Transportation"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2
2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Guy Sharpless v.3
Louisiana Department of Transportation; Jefferson Parish Department of Public4
Works, Department of Streets; John Doe; and Progressive Security Insurance5
Company"; and to provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. The sum of Twelve Thousand Five Hundred and No/100 ($12,500.00)8
Dollars, is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal9
Year 2012-2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Guy Sharpless10
v. Louisiana Department of Transportation; Jefferson Parish Department of Public Works,11
Department of Streets; John Doe; and Progressive Security Insurance Company", bearing12
Number 626-656, Division "G", on the docket of the Twenty-Fourth Judicial District Court,13
parish of Jefferson, state of Louisiana.14
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012; if vetoed by the governor15
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,16
2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 17 HLS 12RS-1257 ORIGINAL
