ACT No. 746 Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE BILL NO. 544 BY REPRESENTATIVE MONTOUCET AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:424(A), relative to driver's licenses; to require a suspected2 unqualified licensee to retake the skills and knowledge test; and to provide for3 related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 32:424(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6 ยง424. Department may compel examination of suspected incompetents; prohibited7 disclosure of information; exceptions8 A.(1) The department, having good cause to believe that a licensed driver or9 chauffeur is incompetent or otherwise not qualified to be licensed, may upon written10 notice of at least ten days to the licensee require him to submit to the knowledge or11 skills test required for issuance of a driver's license, or submit to a medical12 examination. one, any combination of, or all of the following: 13 (a) Knowledge test.14 (b) Skills test.15 (c) Medical examination.16 (2) Upon the conclusion of such test, or tests, or examination, or17 examinations, the department shall take action as may be appropriate, including18 permitting the licensee to retain the license or suspending, revoking, or restricting19 ENROLLEDHB NO. 544 Page 2 of 2 CODING: Words in struck through type are deletions from existing law; words underscored are additions. the license.
