AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 56:116.1(D)(1), relative to hunting; to provide for the authority2
of the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission and the secretary of the Department of3
Wildlife and Fisheries; to provide for trapping outlaw quadrupeds; and to provide for4
related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 56:116.1(D)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7
ยง116.1. Wild birds and wild quadrupeds; times and methods of taking; penalties8

D.(1) Outlaw quadrupeds, nutria, or beaver may be taken at any time of year10
from one-half hour before official sunrise to one-half hour after official sunset,11
without limit as to number, except by trapping during the closed season for nongame12
quadrupeds; however, such trapping may be used only under special permit issued13
by the department, except such trapping of feral hogs outlaw quadrupeds may be14
used without special permit in accordance with rules and regulations promulgated15
by the commission.16
