HIGHWAYS: Renames the John James Audubon Bridge
AN ACT1
To rename the John James Audubon bridge between West Feliciana and Pointe Coupee2
Parishes to the "Generals John A. Lejeune - Robert H. Barrow Bridge"; to repeal Act3
No. 483 of the 1993 Regular Session of the Legislature and Act No. 227 of the 20114
Regular Session of the Legislature; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. The John James Audubon Bridge, which connects the town of New Roads7
in Pointe Coupee Parish and the town of St. Francisville in West Feliciana Parish, shall8
hereinafter be known and renamed as the "Generals John A. Lejeune - Robert H. Barrow9
Bridge". 10
Section 2. The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are11
hereby directed to erect appropriate signage and change any promotional items reflecting this12
name change.13
Section 3. Act No. 483 of the 1993 Regular Session of the Legislature and Act No.14
227 of the 2011 Regular Session of the Legislature are hereby repealed in their entirety.15

Present law names the east approach bridge on La. Hwy. 10 in West Feliciana Parish
between its intersection with U.S. Hwy. 61 near the town of St. Franciscille and the bridge
to the "General Robert H. Barrow Memorial Approach" and the west approach to the bridge
on La. Hwy. 10 in Pointe Coupee Parish between its intersection with La. Hwy. 981 and its
intersection with La. 1 Business and La. 10 Business west of the city of New Roads to the

Proposed law repeals present law and redesignates the John James Audubon Bridge as the
"Generals John A. Lejeune - Robert H. Barrow Bridge".
Proposed law also repeals Act No. 483 of the 1993 R.S. which designated the bridge as the
John James Audubon Bridge.
